Belize is a country in South America. The main trip is a trip to the Mayan Ruins at Xunatunich. The name means Maiden of the Rock, as the ancient name is unknown and is an archaeological site since the mid 1890s. One of the larger structures that can be climbed is “El Castillo”, a pyramid that lies under several tiers. There are other smaller structures around the area that can be visited.
The port itself has many seafront cafes and bars, with a selection of souvenir shops, and is a pleasant place to wile away the time. The ships here have to reach shore by tenders, as there is no actual port for them to dock.
